It's good to have girlfriends. Katy Perry showed today that TLC has a friend in her, as she just donated $5,000 to the band in order for them to complete a new musical album. The band made up of Tionne 'T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas got the surprise from Perry, as she pledged the money to the Kickstarter account that they just recently set up to fund their final musical project together.

T-Boz took to her Twitter account to thank Perry for the generous donation.

"A BIG Special THANK YOU 2 @katyperry for her pledge to our #Kickstarter Campaign!" TLC front woman wrote, adding "Your awesome."

The Kickstarter event title "TLC is BACK to make our FINAL ALBUM" has already surpassed its initial goal of $150,000 in the first few days of the campaign.

We wonder if the $5,000 that Katy donated is going to get her the slumber party rewards. For backers that pledge that amount they will get a sleepover with the girls of TLC in Los Angeles.

The Kickstarter campaign describes it as follows:

"Get ready to stay up late with T-BOZ. We'll put on our jammies, order some late night snacks, and have some #TLCPillowTalk. Mom and Dad won't be there, so there's no need to keep the volume down."

TLC is going to have a pretty busy year as they have just agreed to be part of The Main Event concert series with New Kids On The Block and Nelly. The girls couldn't be more excited to share the stage with the 90's boy band, as Chilli stated to E! News that she planned on popping up multiple times a night during their set.

"We're going to come out on some of their [songs]" the singer promised. "We're going to study [their dance moves] every day and then we are going to pop up."

Tickets for the tour will go on sale January 31.
