El Rey's 'The Director's Chair' Features Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Rodriguez For 'The Conversation!' [WATCH]

El Rey Network has announced that legendary Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola will be the next guest of Robert Rodriguez's The Director's Chair. After the duo discuss the world of filmmaking, viewers should get ready for the network premiere of Coppola's psychological thriller, The Conversation.

Airing Monday, March 2 at 8:00pm, in this installment of The Director's Chair, Rodriguez discusses Coppola's epic career, tracing his early filmmaking inspirations back to childhood. The Dracula director delivers an in-depth talk about his masterpiece-level of films, ranging fromThe Godfather and Apocalypse Now. The father of Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation) explains how he worked within the studio system though not without his own challenges.

The release states, "Coppola discusses his surprising reluctance to do both The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II as well as providing new insight into the well documented struggles on Apocalypse Now, which resulted in arguably the greatest war film of all time."

Previous guests in The Director's Chair have been Guillermo Del Toro (The Strain), John Carpenter (Halloween), and Quentin Tarantino (The Hateful Eight).

Airing that same night at 9:00pm, The Conversation revolves around the moral dilemma a surveillance expert faces when his recordings reveal a potential murder. Written, produced, and directed by Coppola, the film went on to win the Palme d'Or at the 1974 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for three Academy Awards.
