Before Season 2 begins on Adult Swim, the adult-themed animated program, Rick and Morty, is making its way to the comic book page. A special #1 comic book preview of the time-traveling mad scientist, Rick Sanchez, and his over-matched grandson, Morty Smith, has been released.

Rick and Morty follows the misadventures of alcoholic scientist Rick and his grandson Morty as they split their time between family life and intergalactic space travel. Voiced by Justin Roiland, Rick Sanchez is a genius scientist and the grandfather of Morty. His sociopathy and alcoholic tendencies tend to frighten his family and worry about the safety of his grandson. Also voiced by Roiland, Morty Smith is a good-natured 14-year-old grandson. Because Morty is easily influenced, he always gets dragged into Rick's unfortunate incidents.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the first installment will be written by Zac Gorman, illustrated by CJ Cannon and colored by Ryan Hill. If you are available during Emerald City Comic Con's March 27-29 weekend, convention-goers will get a first shot shot at the comic book from Oni Press. In the first few pages, the two appear to be flying off to outer-space and meeting a time detetcive, who wears a clock around his neck.

EW has a slideshow of the first six pages of the book in still-penciled form. Notice how the creative team has captured the visual style of the show in the comic book page.

The first issue of Rick and Morty officially goes on sale April 1.

Check out Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland, Spencer Grammer (who plays Summer Smith) taking about the second season here:

On Cartoon Network, Robot Chicken presented its recent hilarious Christmas Special. Unfortunately, Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward won't be returning as showrunner this sixth season.

The second season of Rick and Morty returns to Adult Swim during summer 2015.

Readers, are you excited to grab your hands on the first issue?
