Robin Roberts, the popular "Good Morning America" news anchor, is receiving huge amounts of love and support from fans as she prepares to undergo a bone marrow transplant today (Thursday, Sept. 20) to help her battle against MDS. Since Roberts' highly publicized temporary medical leave announcement on "GMA," internet searches regarding her personal life (i.e., is Roberts gay and if so does she currently have a partner) have blown up like crazy. Love Life, is Roberts a lesbian and does she have a partner?
Roberts has never officially come out as gay, although speculations that the 51-year-old broadcaster may be a lesbian began to surface back in May when she was interviewed by President Barack Obama. Many inside sources claim that she scored the coveted interview because she is "black and gay." Roberts is unmarried, and she keeps her romantic life very private.

While this is a widely searched topic on Google, the answer is no. Rumors have it that Roberts does have a girlfriend; one inside source has claimed, "It's hardly a secret in the business. She is Robin's sister. Sally-Ann is also a popular CBS news anchor in New Orleans, and she turned out to be almost a perfect bone marrow match for Robins - she is her donor. Robins is the youngest of four children.
What happened with Roberts' Breast Cancer Scare?
On July 31, 2007, Roberts announced during a live broadcast of "GMA" that she had been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Roberts underwent surgery on August 3, 2007. She shaved her head during chemotherapy treatment and decided to wear a wig on "GMA" because she "didn't want to distract viewers from the news." Roberts completed her eight chemotherapy treatments as of January 10, 2008. She then completed radiation treatment on March 28, 2008.

Although Roberts spends much of her time in NYC, she lives in Gulfport, Mississippi in order to stay close to family. Following her final stint on "GMA," Roberts returned to Mississippi to be with her ailing mother in her final hours. Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts passed away Aug. 30 at the age of 88. The hospital Roberts is being treated at (she's been there since last Monday, and just finished up chemo treatment on Tuesday) is in New York.

Roberts is very thankful for her fans and all of their support, and keeps them constantly updated (at least when she can) through Twitter.
