John Mayer and Katy Perry Getting Serious? Perry Hands Over Spare Key to LA Home

John Mayer and Katy Perry's playful summer romance just got a whole lot more serious. Despite rumors that the duo's "flirty" relationship has been on the rocks, recent reports claim that Perry has handed over a spare key to her L.A. home, since Mayer apparently spends so much time there anyway. Although the couple has attempted to keep their relationship under wraps, the pop stars can't seem to get enough of each other when it comes to gallivanting together around Hollywood, which adds even more fuel to the already heavily circulated dating rumors.

One source close to Perry told U.K.'s The Sun, "John thinks it is easier to stay in hotels rather than his own L.A. pad when he visits from New York. But Katy insists he should stay with her. She thinks it makes sense."

Since Tuesday's news of the romantic key exchange, gossip sites have been abuzz, suggesting that Perry and Mayer have officially "moved in" together.

34-year-old Mayer and his "Firework" sweetheart were spotted cozying up to one another earlier this summer. Although their relationship appeared nothing but flirtatious and friendly, they were spotted spending ample time together throughout L.A. Even so, many fans and close friends of the 27-year-old songstress are worried that she might get her heartbroken (again). Perry just finalized her divorce from a short-lived marriage with British funny guy Russell Brand over the summer, and Mayer is known to be quite the Hollywood playboy (former "rumored" flames include Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Jessica Simpson).

Still, the Mayer and Perry hook-up doesn't come as a surprise to some - another source close to the "Wide Awake" star told The Sun, "Katy, who's had a crush on John since 2009, has been on several dates around Los Angeles," said a second source speaking to The Sun. "[She] seems to forget about John's womanizing [reputation] and the fact that he disastrously dated her pal, Taylor Swift."

Looks like Perry just wants another real chance at finding love!
