Scandal Season 4 Spoilers: Where Is Olivia Pope?

ABC's Scandal returns with all new episodes on Thursday, and fans have been asking one question during the long winter hiatus. Where is Olivia Pope?

The "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine has a bit of information on that subject.

"Question: I'd love something on Thursday's Scandal return.
Ausiello: You won't have to wait long for an answer to the question, 'Where in the world is Olivia Pope?' And I think you'll find her whereabouts alternately shocking and hilarious. "

As we know from ABC's promotional photos from the Feb. 5 episode, Olivia Pope is apparently still missing at that time. TVLine has posted the photos from the episode entitled "Where's the Black Lady?"

In related news, We'll also see a clash between Fitz and his vice president, according to some new spoilers. The following comes from the "Matt's Inside Line" column at TVLine.

Scandal's Jon Tenney told me that POTUS won't take kindly to his veep's 'ballsy' move against Olivia ('You don't mess with Fitz's lady!'), while Andrew cheating on Mellie with LizzieBear will be dealt with as well ('There's a lot to be explored there, which I think people will enjoy')."

The midseason finale revealed that Olivia Pope had been kidnapped. Star Darby Stanchfield told TVLine that her friends "address it head on" and the show picks up right where it left off several weeks ago.

Katie Lowes adds that Quinn will take initiative to get her boss back. "As you've seen in the first half of this season, Quinn has taken a step up as far as running things at OPA," Lowes said, "so when Olivia goes missing, you can assume that she is going to put all her effort into the case."

Stanchfield said Abby, now a White House press secretary, "has a bit of a gladiating moment. She gets to dabble in the OPA world. It was fun for me and it's going to be fun for the fans."

But perhaps most interesting of all is the tease of a major twist for longtime fans, as in, those who have been watching from the first episode.

There is the most freakin' hugest surprise that happens in the next four episodes that the original Gladiators are going to freak out over," Stanchfield said. "The only clue I can give you is that the fans of the first season are going tolose theirminds."

Lowes said the twist "was as surprising to me as that 'Dad?' moment at the end of Season 2," in reference to the final scene of the second season in which we learned that Command of B613 was Olivia's father, Rowan. "That's how big of a shocker you guys have coming."

"It's a real surprise for the original Gladiators, the people who have been here since the beginning," she continued. "It's a real OG situation."
