'The Americans' Season 3 Recap: Will Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Discover Who "EST Men" Are?

The Season 3 premiere of The Americans has finally made its way on FX. With the life of their daughter at stake, will Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys) risk their cover from being blown as they discover what secrets the 'EST Men' are hiding from them?

In a flashback, Elizabeth remembers when her mother pushed her into the pool to learn how to swim. In the present day, a disguised Elizabeth is having drinks with a drunk CIA agent, while Philip and Stan (Noah Emmerich) are at a sex/self-help camp. After slipping Elizabeth a piece of paper, the CIA agent makes a phone call, revealing she made a horrible mistake.

Elizabeth gets out of the bar when she realizes her CIA contact is stalling. While Philip and Stan are talking about getting a beer together, Elizabeth is approached by two FBI agents. Elizabeth beats one of them up and gets the other one run over by a speeding motorcycle. 

At home, Elizabeth is nursing her bruised shoulder with an ice pack. After getting Stan out of the way, Philip checks up on her and discovers she lost a list of names. At FBI headquarters, Stan discovers his boss with a broken nose and learns the fate of Nina, who has been charged with her crime.

After putting make-up on her face, Elizabeth is at church with her daughter, Paige (Holly Taylor). She isn't too happy seeing her daughter flirt with another boy. Elsewhere, Gabriel (Frank Langella) meets up with the Jennings, wondering if they should recruit Paige to the Center. After hearing how Paige may be open to new ideas, Gabriel plays scrabble with Philip while Elizabeth finds a cassette left for her.

In the car, Philip and Elizabeth are arguing intensely over Paige. Philip realizes his wife is developing her own daughter, pretending to get to know her.  He just wants Paige to grow up, go to college, and live a normal life. 

At the shooting range, Stan teaches Martha how to use her gun. After telling her it's all about the sights, Martha is able to make direct hits. While Philip is planting his mole to get close to the CIA, Elizabeth is listening to an old recording of her mother. 

Stan meets with his wife, Sandra, and tries to be honest; making things worse with her. After Philip has a passionate night  of sex, he goes back to his other day job with Elizabeth. She tells him about the tape Gabriel gave her and mentions that her mother is dying.

Just as Stan has a new target to investigate, Elizabeth realizes she is being followed. She is actually teaching her contact how to tail someone. While listening in, Philip hears his mole being murdered, choked to death by her lover. Philip enters the room, tells the murderer he can help him, and make the dead body go away.
