The superheroes of Marvel Comics have to been known to tackle intolerance and promoting positivity in their popular titles. Now their teen super heroine, Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, has been using her powers in real life to fight racist anti-Islam messages on San Francisco muni buses.

As we previously mentioned, Kamala Khan is a Pakistani-American Muslim born in Jersey City. Khan is the first Muslim character to headline her own superhero title. In the aftermath of the Inhumanity storyline, the Terrigen Mists have suddenly activated dormant Inhuman cells in ordinary people. With the ability to shape-shift, Khan calls herself, Ms. Marvel, in honor of Carol Danvers, who's also getting a movie of her own in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

G. Willow Wilson, the fan-favorite writer who signed exclusively with Marvel and is on a roll with the all-female X-Men, tweeted, "Some amazing person has been painting over the anti-Muslim bus ads in SF with Ms. Marvel graffiti. Spread love," and posted the following link.

According to Street Cred - Advertising for the People, ads were splattered all over the sides of buses. These hate-filled ads were purchased by blogger Pamela Geller's American Freedom Defense Initiative. San Francisco Gate describes the hate group's extremist messages equating Islam with Nazism.

Muni spokesman Paul Rose has given the money to the Human Rights Commission, "We understand and apologize that people could be offended by these ads. Neither the city nor Muni endorse the content of these negative ads. However, the First Amendment protects freedom of speech, including speech that is considered offensive."

And here's how the Marvel super-teen comes in to save the day. "The ads now feature Kamala Khan, Marvel's Comics first Muslim character to headline her own comic book with messages against islamophobia, racism and hate speech and a group of protestors calling for more love. Enjoy."

Readers, are you happy to see Ms. Marvel fight racism?
