It's become a bit of a running joke on the CW's Arrow that more people know Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) secret identity than don't, but the one person who has remained in the dark is his sister, Thea Queen (Willa Holland).

Some fans like to joke about how Thea has not yet figured out that her brother is the hooded hero, but to this point, she still has not put two and two together. But could that soon change?

Consider what the newly released official description for Season 3, Episode 14, entitled "The Return," has to say:

"THE RETURN OF DEATHSTROKE AND TOMMY MERLYN - Malcolm (John Barrowman) puts Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) in a dangerous situation that lands them on Lian Yu with Oliver's former enemy, Deathstroke (guest star Manu Bennett). A flashback reveals when Oliver and Maseo (guest star Karl Yune) returned to Starling City to retrieve the Omega bio weapon, and despite being under strict orders from Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) not to reveal himself to anyone, Oliver looks in on his family, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (guest star Colin Donnell). Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Erik Oleson."

First, it's unclear why Malcolm decides to lock his daughter and her brother in some sort of death trap on Lian Yu, but let's just put a pin that for now. The fact of the matter is Ollie and his sister will be stuck on the island with Oliver's old nemesis, Slade Wilson. And as we all know, Slade will do anything in his power to make Ollie's life miserable. The last time we saw the character, he was shaking the bars of his prison cell and vowing to get revenge.

But perhaps the most interesting part of this episode description is the implication it holds for Thea and Oliver. How exactly does this entire scenario play out without Thea learning about her brother's secret identity? To her knowledge, Oliver is just a man without any special fighting skills of any kind. She clearly knows he survived his ordeal on the island, but if he starts firing off arrows or fighting enemies in hand-to-hand combat, then she's going to get suspicious.

Perhaps Thea already knows by the time this episode begins? If the Arrow returns to Starling City at the same time as her brother, then maybe she'd connect the dots. Or maybe Oliver finally tells her, given that there's pretty much no reason for her not to know anymore, especially because Ra's al Ghul is gunning for her and Malcolm.

Oliver considered telling his sister the truth earlier in Season 3, and he now knows that Thea has been training with Malcolm after he briefly tussled with his sister as the Arrow in the midseason finale. It would seem foolish for him not to tell her now, as his whole rationale for not telling her was to protect her. But now one of the most dangerous men to ever walk the Earth is after her, so what reason does he have not to inform Thea of his nighttime activities? In fact, his mission would probably become easier if he tells her the whole truth because then his team could get involved, as well, and he wouldn't have to tiptoe around his own sister.
