Rihanna will premiere her new single "Diamonds" on Wednesday (9/26) on US Radio and iTunes worldwide.  The cover art was finally unveiled a few days before the release.

"It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and the gears are a little different from what people would expect. I'm excited to surprise them sonically," the singer told a radio host Elvis Duran in Las Vegas, NME.com reports. She also added that "it is a happy and hippy record."

The single is rumored to be the first track of her seventh studio album. Her label leaked news about Rihanna's upcoming album earlier this month but covered it up saying details would be announced later. A press release, however confirmed that the album would be released "before the end of this year." The Hollywood reporter predicts the dates in November because the singer dropped an album every November in the past three years.

The "Talk That Talk" singer posted the new single cover art on twitter and commented that the picture was shot by one of her new favorite photographers.

Rihanna's "Diamonds World Tour" is scheduled to open at the Niagara Center in Buffalo on March 8, 2013.
