Bored Knicks Fan Spike Lee Coaching NBA All-Star Game: Celebrity Challenge feat Kevin Hart, Common, Mo'Ne Davis, Nick Cannon & More

Spike Lee will finally be able to live all of his Eddie fantasies: the New York Knicks No. 1 fan will coach on NBA All-Star weekend at Madison Square Garden. Well... The He Got Game director will coach the NBA All-Star Celebrity Challenge at least. Lee will be in command -- and presumably able to yell at Reggie Miller -- alongside actual basketball player, Knicks star and, um, entrepreneur Carmelo Anthony, as the two go head-to-head against ESPN's Mike & Mike (Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic) for some reason... that's not at all to do with the fact that ESPN are broadcasting the game. They'll be coaching celebrities such as loudmouth and 3-time celebrity game MVP Kevin Hart, Just Wright actor/rapper Common, Mariah Carey's ex-husband Nick Cannon, and NBA owner Robert Pera who isn't a celebrity. Just really, really rich.

Lee -- with his Knicks mired at 10-39, the second worst record in the NBA -- will be able to actually find something to smile about at Madison Square Garden this year as he coaches a diverse array of celebrity talent.

According to NBA.com, the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game players will be diminutive comedic superstar and Get Hard actor Hart, film star Ansel Elgort, Blackish star Anthony Anderson; Little League pitching phenom Mo'ne Davis; Arcade Fire singer/behemoth Win Butler, 42 actor Chadwick Boseman, America's Got Talent host Cannon, and Common. Who, just as a reminder, was the star of Just Wright.

Former NBA All-Star and current New York Knicks Assistant General Manager Allan Houston, as well as Basketball Hall of Famer Chris Mullin, plus WNBA stars Shoni Schimmel of the Atlanta Dream, Skylar Diggins of the Tulsa Shock and Tina Charles of the New York Liberty will try to impress with their actual knowledge of basketball.

Joining them will be gold medal-winning U.S. Paralympic athlete Blake Leeper; actor Michael Rapaport; NBA Inside Stuff co-host Kristen Ledlow and Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan. There's no Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, however.

Somehow Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera has also elbowed his way into the game, which is strange because he's neither a celebrity or former All-Star and seems to have simply leveraged the fact that he's a super-rich white guy and NBA owner into getting onto the court.

He and the players on his team will now have something in common (besides pretending to like Common).

As The Bleacher Report say, "Seeing celebrities step out of their element and on to the basketball court is a great treat for the fans."

It's only fair that the fans are forced to watch a rich guy get his jollies off.

Best of luck Robert. No, really. You're super cool. Think of the stories you'll be able to tell all your rich white guy buddies. Boy will they be jealous.

With any luck, Michael Rapaport is on the opposing team to Pera.

The Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game 2015 is on Friday Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. and airing live on ESPN.
