Justin Timberlake is taking over a new venture to bring back MySpace in a new way.

In June 2011, Chris and Tim Vanderhook bought the social media website MySpace. On Monday, the two gained Justin Timberlake as an investor who is looking to help unveil the new look of the site.

The social media platform is getting redesigned to become a hub for artists, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"In a single sentence, it's a social network for the creative community to connect to their fans," Tim Vanderhook said. "We're going after artists, right after this we'll be talking to various artists to come on the platform. We want to give them a chance to help build it with us. We're really far along, but we really want that last twenty percent to really be crafted by more people like Justin that actually know the tools and things that they need."

Timberlake will be the ambassador of the new site by recruiting people in the industry. He joked in the new presentation, "I know some artists."

"For me, to reach out to the ones that I know, I think for now to be a beta tester, as well. I want them to feel a sense of comfortable anonymity to that," he says.

Chris Vanderhook says they'll be reaching out to artists at all levels of their craft which includes discovering new talent.

"We want the right people who want to use the platform, who want to find other creators, as well, and want to be able to actually collaborate and really foster a community of creators," he says. "So it's not about just the established, it's also about the unsigned."

"There's a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect. Myspace has the potential to be that place," Timberlake said in 2011.
