Actor Johnny Lewis, former star of the hit drama "Sons of Anarchy," was found dead on Wednesday after supposedly plummeting to his death from the roof of an L.A. home in Los Feliz. While details surrounding 28-year-old Lewis' death still remain unclear, reports allege that he beat an 81-year-old woman (his landlady) to death just moments before his fatal fall.
L.A. officers who responded to the 911 call on Wednesday were told that Lewis had fought with two men (it remains unclear if this fight took place before or after the landlady was killed) and that the actor died after falling from what may have been a wall or balcony. His body was found was lying in a driveway in the Los Feliz neighborhood near Hollywood.
Catherine Davis, Lewis' landlady, was found dead of apparently blunt force trauma inside the building in question.
"The best we're piecing together now is that it appears that some type of altercation occurred inside of the house resulting in the death of the woman, then this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here, he had fallen or had somehow died on the driveway," LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told ABC.
The upstairs part of the building where the struggle may have taken place was supposedly ransacked - the body of a dead cat, also apparently been beaten, was also found my LAPD.
Lewis, who starred as Kip "Half-Sack" Epps in the popular FX series that follows the story of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club "Sons of Anarchy," was written out of the show in its second season. "Johnny wasn't happy on the show," series creator Kurt Sutter admitted back in 2009. "Creatively, he really wanted out of his contract. We had ongoing conversations, and we decided we'd find some noble way for him to go."
According to LAPD spokesman Andrew Smith, "It's a terrible tragedy as far as we're concerned and were digging into the bottom of it."
