IFC Renews 'Portlandia' For 2 More Seasons: More Episodes To Come After 2015's Season 5

Even though the unique sketch comedy series, Portlandia is currently in the middle of its fifth season, its network, IFC is wasting no time to renew the show for two more seasons. Some fans assumed that season 5 would mark the end of the bizarre show, but it looks like we have plenty more laughs to share with stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein in the years to come!

"We are so excited to get to do more Portlandia with IFC," the stars of the series said in a joint statement over on IFC's official website. "Getting to work with [co-creator and director] Jon [Krisel] and our talented writers and crew, it really is our favorite thing in the world. Also, we get to spend more time in Portland!"

The network has not announced any official release dates for seasons 6 or 7 just yet, but we assume that news will come soon.

We can expect more great guests over the next two seasons, too!
