Google maps street views caught American's attention recently when a pink saucer like object in the sky has been captured in the images.  Some started to wonder whether UFOs or aliens exist.

Huffington Post reported that a Texas resident recently came across a Google street view image that displayed a pink aircraft object that had a white trail.  She contacted the local media ABC affiliate KLTV.

The KLTV reporter Jamey Boyum said, "No one I spoke with had seen anything strange over Jacksonville, and although it could be a lens flare or an unexplainable reflection of some nearby object, I saw no indication of anything which fell under that umbrella,"

Another Google street view photo showing a similar pink saucer like craft in the sky was also reported 1000 miles away in New Mexico.

A scientific explanation was given by photo-video analyst Marc Dantonio to The Huffington Post.

"I examined the Google Earth photo in question. This is a simple, but classic, lens flare,

"It is oriented exactly perpendicular to the sun, which is, of course, the source of the lens flare. The red color -- although apparently odd -- is not really unexpected. Color can be related to chromatic aberration where the light rays do not reach the same focal point, causing the final artifact to appear in a primary color like red, green or blue," he explained.

People began to debate about the existence of intelligent beings outside of earth.

"I for one WELCOME our new alien overlords. Please eat our leaders first!" one internet user joked.

"Hey that's the pink UFO that brought Paris Hilton here," another user wrote.

Another user shared, "We are not alone. I had an experience in Germany while serving in the military. Scared the hell out of me. And as usual the br#$%$ said it was a weather balloon. Weather balloon my #$%$, there were 15.people on duty that night that saw the same object."

"Aliens appear just in time for the 2012 presidential elections!" another user wrote.

What do you think?  Do UFOs exist or was it just a lens flare?
