Novelist E.L. James admits that her kinky "Fifty Shades Of Grey" series was initially inspired by the infamous fandom of "Twilight." So - what does Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson think about that?

Well, it's sort of odd... especially because he's such great friends with actor Jamie Dornan!

The highly-anticipated erotica film hits theaters this Valentine's Day weekend. Meanwhile, 28-year-old R-Patz recently premiered his own new movie" Life" at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival. In an exclusive interview with Reutersthe British superstar reveals that it feels rather "strange" his beloved vampire character inspired the S&M-enthused Christian Grey:

"It's kind of weird and also I've known Jamie for about 10 years. I haven't actually read the book but I think it must be very, very different. I don't see how it can work if it's not different... [But] there's some kind of profound connection that a bunch of people have to it, and I've never figured out quite what it is."

Do Edward Cullen fans think Mr. Grey even stands a chance?

Interestingly enough, #50ShadesOfGreyDisgusting is the top hashtag currently trending on Twitter in association with the film. Here's why:

@grierfection: "50 shades of grey is actually a disgusting movie about an abusive relationship so stupid."

@myavonheart: "50 shades of grey is a disgusting story of a twisted, abusive relationship. i can't comprehend understand how people can support that."

@girlwithcamera4: "50 Shades of Grey is absolutely disgusting. It's not romance. It's physical and emotional abuse and rape. Don't romanticize it."

@American_Charm: "50 Shades of Grey comes out during Domestic Abuse Awareness Week, anyone else see the disgusting irony #50ShadesIsAbuse."

@ancienteast: "50 shades of grey is a disgusting rape culture-promoting film completely distorting the image of love and what a healthy relationship is."

Wow - do MstarsNews readers still plan on going to see the sexy flick?
