The 87th Annual Academy Awards ceremony airs this weekend, Feb. 22, with some of the best and brightest stars attending to see who gets to bring home Oscars in 2015. As we know, not all nominees can win, but what about those actors and films that weren't even included in the nominations? That's right - it's time to look at this year's list of Oscar snubs including Interstellar, Selma and more! Who do you think got snubbed this year? Check out our top 5 list below!

With a limited amount of space for nominees, there will always be snubs; but even with that understood, sometimes it is so hard to figure out why the Academy looked over such performances and productions. Though arguments can be made for every snub out there, we've compiled a list of 5 snubs below with details on why these actors and/or films should've received a nomination in 2015!

Our first two snubs come from the same project: Selma. Yes, the Martin Luther King Jr. biopic received a Best Picture nomination in 2015, but the film's leading man, David Oyelowo received a snub! We're not sure why this critically acclaimed portrayal of the legendary Civil Rights leader was looked over, especially since the Academy usually loves biopics, but it happened and we have to just deal with it!

Even if you can accept Oyelowo not receiving a nomination, those that have seen the film definitely don't understand why director Ava DuVernay was snubbed in the Best Director category. She received a nomination for the 2015 Golden Globes, but not the Oscars. We don't know why this happened, especially since the Academy has facing race issues for quite some time. This would've been a win-win, if you ask us: she deserved a nomination and people would've looked at the Academy in a different light!

Easily one of the biggest movies of 2014 was director Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. This sci-fi epic only received two nominations, but not in the top categories. Between the Best Picture, Directing, Cinematography and Screenwriting categories, we believe this film has been snubbed! Don't worry though, Interstellar returns to IMAX theaters this weekend, so you'll probably be hearing a lot about it during Oscars weekend!

The LEGO Movie won the hearts of millions around the world, yet it didn't receive a nomination in the Best Animated Feature category. It has already received a sequel order and two spin-off projects; alas the Academy couldn't give it a deserved nomination? Snubbed!

Another big Oscar snub that has been getting a lot of attention is that of Jennifer Aniston not getting a nomination for her performance in Cake. Hailed as her best and most dramatic performance to date, a nomination for Jen was pretty much expected if you were following the news - which, let's face it, she has been all over for quite some time. Perhaps this snub has received a lot of attention due to Jen's celebrity factor and how gossip news sources love to talk about her, but critics were on board with her Cake performance, leading us to consider this as one of the top snubs of the year.

What do you think of our top 5 list of 2015 Oscar snubs? Do you agree with these choices? Do you have other snubs in mind? If so, share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below!
