Actress Nicole Kidman has finally opened up about her difficult divorce from Tom Cruise, and insists that she was not involved with the dramatic divorce between Cruise and now third ex-wife Katie Holmes - although in a similar situation, she had never even spoken to the former "Dawson's Creek" star about the couple's faltering relationship. In a revealing interview with Who magazine, the "Rabbit Hole" star denies such rumors and goes on to describe a painful breakup with Cruise marked by depression-turned- forgiveness.
Some reports claim that Kidman was a "shoulder to cry on" for Holmes during her tough separation from Cruise - the 45-year-old actress/singer insists that's not the case: "I never spoke to her," she tells Australia's Who magazine. "I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that." While the two are mutual friends (having shared an ex-husband and even custody of off-spring), they aren't necessarily "girlfriends" - intimate details about Cruise were never exchanged between the two.
As for Kidman (who was married to Cruise from 1990-2001) - she describes the period directly following their divorce as living the "loneliest, loneliest existence." The "Cold Mountain" star emotionally admits about the breakup: "When it didn't work out, I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression. But I have no regrets about all of it. It was all a part of growing up."
Now, Kidman is happy again with her life (with four children - two with Cruise and two with current husband Keith Urban). She has been married to country star Urban since 2006, and she no longer has any harsh feelings in regards to her past courtship with Cruise - "It was a fantastic decade. I wish all of the people that have been involved in my life well, because it's very important to me to be in a place of forgiveness and love... I got married really fast and really young. But I don't regret that because it got me [children] Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period."
As for motherhood - that's one of Kidman's main sources of happiness: "I'm amazed that I have been a mother for so much of my life now. It's odd, but because of them I don't feel 45."
She considers Sunday (her first daughter with Urban) "the miracle of my life." Kidman believed that she couldn't conceive children - Connor and Bella were adopted. Therefore, her pregnancy with Sunday came as quite a shock. Her youngest child, Faith, was born via surrogacy.
"All my kids are highlights of my life," Kidman told Who. "They are all of my biggest joys."
Kidman's newest upcoming film, the psychological thriller Stoker, is due out in March 2013.
