The CW's Arrow is rolling along through Season 3, and news broke earlier this week that the first metahuman will make his way to Starling City in an upcoming episode.

Doug Jones will portray the villain known as Deathbolt, also known as Jake Simmons, in Episode 19 of Season 3. His appearance will mark the first true appearance of a metahuman, other than Barry Allen aka The Flash, in Starling City. In the comics, Deathbolt has the ability to manipulate lightning and control plasma energy.

It is unclear at this point if the Deathbolt of the Arrow universe will come from Central City and/or receive his powers from the same particle accelerator explosion that gave Barry Allen his powers.

In case you missed it, here is the official description for next week's episode, entitled "Nanda Parbat."

The title refers to the region of the world where Ra's al Ghul lives. The description reveals that Malcolm Merlyn will be paying an unscheduled visit to the area, and it also reveals that Brandon Routh will suit up as the Atom for the first time!

"MERLYN IS CAPTURED BY RA'S AL GHUL; THE ATOM SUIT REVEALED - Malcolm(John Barrowman) is captured by Ra's al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable) and taken to Nanda Parbat.Because of his love for Thea (Willa Holland), Oliver (Stephen Amell) considers saving Merlyn.Ray (Brandon Routh) is obsessed with finishing his Atom suit so he can save the city but Felicity(Emily Bett Rickards) fears he is heading down the same path as Oliver (Stephen Amell) and tries topull him out of the lab. Gregory Smith directed the episode with story by Wendy Mericle & BenSokolowski and teleplay by Erik Olesen & Ben Sokolowski."
