Evan Peters was one of the fan favorites in X-Men: Days of Future Past as Quicksilver, the speedy mutant with a bit of a snarky attitude. The scene in which he helps Wolverine and Beast rescue Magneto has become the defining scene of the movie for many fans. But will Peters return for the sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, in 2016?

I Am Rogue recently asked Peters if he is coming back as Quicksilver in Bryan Singer's next installment in the franchise. "I think so, yes," the actor said. "I assume it as well, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to say and not supposed to say." The site then asked if his schedule aligns for when filming begins, and Peters would only say, "No. We’ll see. I think...I don’t know what I can say and what I can’t say. All I can say is that I have not seen a script yet."

In related news, Singer announced on Instagram earlier this week that Kodi Smit-McPhee, who has appeared in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's The Road, will play a young Nightcrawler in the movie. We last saw the character in X2: X-Men United when Alan Cumming portrayed the blue-skinned mutant with the ability to teleport.

The director also revealed on Twitter last month that Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner would play Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp would play Storm, and Tye Sheridan would play Cyclops. Turner tweeted her joy about the news on Thursday.

Turner plays Sansa Stark on HBO's hit Game of Thrones, while Shipp is best known for her role as Aaliyah in a Lifetime biopic. Sheridan is a relative unknown, but he has received critical praise for his work in the 2012 film Mud.
