MStars News has learned that Cleveland Fox 8 news anchor Kristi Capel has been suspended for three days, after she said the racial slur, "Jigaboo" on camera during Monday morning's broadcast, talking about Lady Gaga's 2015 Oscar performance.

Capel will return to work on Monday, March 2. The former beauty queen said the word twice on live TV, and laughed as she talked about the performance with her co-anchor, Wayne Dawson, who happens to be a African-American man.

Capel, who was the Miss Missouri USA winner in 2005, said that she didn't know the word even existed, claiming that she thought she had made up a word.

The Ohio anchor said Gaga's performance, a "Sound of Music" medley, had her in shock, because you couldn't hear her voice.

"It's hard to really hear her voice with all that jigaboo music that she does, or whatever you want to call it," she said. "Jigaboo. She has a gorgeous voice. I never knew. Very nice."

Capel used Twitter to apologize, exclaiming, “I deeply regret my insensitive comment. I didn’t know the meaning and would never intentionally use hurtful language. I sincerely apologize."

Cleveland Fox 8 repsonded to the situation soon after. The news station's statement read: "Kristi regrets her actions and realizes the impact of her mistake and the hurt she has caused. On Tuesday afternoon, Kristi met with a group of African-American clergy from Northeast Ohio to begin the process of reflecting on the gravity of this incident. In her on-air apology, Kristi vowed to learn from this experience and has begun that process with help from clergy, friends, family and co-workers."

The station's statement also added: "This incident has prompted thousands of social media comments and emails from across the viewing area and the nation. Unlike many who have commented, co-anchor Wayne Dawson and many of us at Fox 8 have the advantage of knowing Kristi Capel personally and her work in our community. It is for that reason that we join with the pastors she met with on Tuesday to begin the process of forgiveness and healing."

Dawson, Capel's co-anchor, issued a statement on Tuesday morning's newscast in support of his colleague.

"I've been working with you for three years, so I think I know your heart," Dawson told viewers. "And I know you didn't mean it. So my thing is that you learn from it, you move on. It's time to forgive and move on. My prayer is that our viewers forgive and move on because she's a good girl. She really, really is."

Dawson claims Capel wouldn't have used the word if she knew what it meant, and it's hurtful history.

MStars News wants to know, is all forgiven?

Capel isn't the only one who made some racial slurs on live TV this week in regards to the Oscars.

MStars News previously reported that Giuliana Rancic has had a tough time in the media this week after she said Zendaya's dreadlocks "probably smells like patchouli oil ... or maybe weed."

The E! host has since apologized for her words, as the Disney star accepted her "I'm sorry" plea.
