CBS has announced their latest casting news to their upcoming DC Comics TV show, Supergirl. Calista Flockhart, Harrison Ford's Wife, Chyler Leigh, Dean Cain, and Helen Slater all join series regulars, Melissa Benoist and Mehcad Brooks, in the new superhero drama.

As we previously mentioned, the CBS superhero drama will follow the comic book adventures of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). In the mythology, Kara Zor-El escaped from the planet Krypton before its destruction years ago, but became lost in space. Crash-landing onto Earth, Kara tries to control her superpowers as she maintains her secret identity as Clark Kent's relative.

From what we mentioned before, Jimmy Olsen (Brooks) is a photographer at CatCo.,where Kara works. Jimmy has recently been living and working in National City, though the reason why is still a secret. What will be kept from the comics is Jimmy's romantic relationship with Supergirl. In the pilot, Jimmy and Supergirl end up working together to take down the Wonder Woman baddie, Lumberjack, who's under orders from the main big bad.

Deadline reports that Ally McBeal herself will play Kara's boss Cat Grant, which reunites her with Brothers & Sisters executive producer Greg Berlanti. Grant is a self-made media magnate and founder of CatCo. After startting her career as a reporter, she has built her company into a global powerhouse.

Entertainment Weekly states, the Grey's Anatomy alum will play Alexandra "Alex" Dancer, Kara's foster sister of Kara. Does this mean Ma and Pa kent won't appear in the original story, like in the comics?

Homeland actor plays Hank Henshaw, a one-time CIA agent who now runs the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), which tracks extraterrestrial threats on Earth. Could he be the big bad, since Henshaw is known in the comics as Cyborg Superman?

According to TV Line, the roles of Helen Slater (1984's Supergirl) and Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) are being kept under lock and key.

We also mentioned, Laura Benanti will play as Alura Zor-El, the birth mother of Kara. Though Alura is dead, her wisdom and guidance echoes across space and time, helping Kara as she becomes Supergirl.

No word yet on when Supergirl will premiere on CBS, or what her costume will look like.

Readers, are you excited to see this superhero show?
