When will the cruel celebrity death hoaxes finally end? Morbid rumors back from 2010 had fans thinking that actor Johnny Depp was dead - the victim of a fatal car crash in France (FALSE!). Now, a "R.I.P. Johnny Depp" memorial Facebook page has resurfaced... and why, exactly? Because a crew member on the set of Depp's new movie "The Lone Ranger" died in an unfortunate drowning while cleaning a pool for an upcoming action scene of the film. Why someone would then start a bogus celebrity death rumor (not only disrespecting the passing away of the poor worker, but also insulting Depp who is still very much alive and well) is beyond the understanding of many upset fans. Check out some reactions to the false "Johnny Depp dead" gossip below.
The "R.I.P. Johnny Depp" page that many people are still commenting on has over 650 Facebook "likes" so far. The bogus memorial page was made on January 24, 2010 and hasn't seen much action since - until now. While the webpage offers no information on how Depp supposedly "died," it has started to receive some popular attention since the beginning of October. Probably because the unfortunate passing of the "Lone Ranger" crew member - 48-year-old Mike Bridge - just took place on Sept. 21. Law enforcement claim Bridge was cleaning a pool tank on the L.A. movie set when he suddenly went into full cardiac arrest. His body was pulled from the tank when a witness noticed Bridger's oxygen mask was no longer emitting any bubbles - he was helicoptered to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead. It appears Bridger had experienced a major heart attack which led to his drowning - investigators are considering it as a "natural death."

Maybe some fans got confused when they heard "'Lone Ranger' onset death" and immediately associated the sad news with Depp. When such fans went to search for more info online, they probably came across the "RIP Johnny Depp" Facebook page, or the fake CNN report that claims Depp died in a car wreck. After learning that both reports are totally bogus, many fans were rather unpleased:
"JOHNNY DEPP IS ALIVE AND HAS HIS WHOLE LIFE AHEAD OF HIM, PEOPLE WHO START PAGES LIKE THIS SERIOUSLY HAVE NO LIFE AT ALL. USUALLY I DONT CARE ABOUT RUMORS LIKE THIS BUT WHEN IT'S JOHNNY DEPP, YOU HAVE MOST DEFINITELY CROSSED THE LINE."
"It's hilarious that all of you have been brainwashed by your fellow idiots on the Internet! He's not dead you bunch of stupid fu##s!"
"THIS IS CRAP!! IF HE WAS GONE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE NEWS!!!! What has Facebook come to a place where others wish death on people. I mean seriously."
"YOU, my dear sir. Can jump off a cliff into a deadly sea of poison and eat a rattle snake. I'm pretty sure I would know if my role model is dead -.-."
"GET RID OF THIS PAGE NOW."
Good point, but for some reason it has yet to be taken down.
Depp is just one of the many celebrities recently hit with the death hoax blow, some of which include Adam Sandler, Morgan Freeman, and WWE star John Cena. Fans, don't fall for it. Check out this Inquisitir article to check for signs of fake death reports.
