Comedian Roseanne Barr is ready to make her presidential debut - the 59-year-old actress will run for president on the Florida ballot as a representative of the Peace and Freedom Party. So all you Floridians out there, keep your eyes peeled for Barr as a potential nominee when you hit up the polls to vote on November 6!
Florida's ballot access rules are amongst the most liberal in the nation. Along with Barr, a number of other small political organizations will be running against Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney in the Sunshine State come November - 12 in total. Colorado is the only other state to boast more presidential candidates, offering 16 different political party options.
The Emmy Award winner announced back in August 2011 that she would be running for president with the Peace and Freedom Party after losing the race for the Green Party nomination. The Peace and Freedom Party's main platform calls for the legalization of marijuana and same-sex marriage. Cindy Sheehan will be listed as Barr's running mate - the anti-war activist made headlines when she staged a long-running protest outside of former President George W. Bush's Texas ranch.
On her official website Roseanne World, Barr insists that U.S. bankers and the Federal Reserve need to be brought downto help mend the ailing economy. She states, "They have stolen our money, our future and the American Dream and continue to enslave us with a broken monetary system."
According to Barr, "We definitely do not have any serious choices in this election besides me."
