Landon Donovan, Brek Shea, and Edgar Castillowill not play for team U.S.A due to injury, but it is a pivotal game in order for the United States to stay alive in the qualifying rounds. Attacking midfielder/forward Clint Dempsey proved to be a star player in the national club league, so the 29-year-old could use this match against Antigua and Barbuda to establish himself on the international level as well.
The last time both teams were matched up was in Tampa, FL with the USA winning 3-1.
