The March 9, 2015 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh and will continue to build toward WrestleMania 31 on Sunday, March 29.

The show will air on the USA Network but if you can't watch on TV, then you can try here or here, both of which broadcast free live streams of the show (this may require downloading a torrent).

All eyes will be on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, who is advertised for the event tonight from the Steel City. In case you haven't been following the backstage situation with the champ, let's review.

The Wrestling Observer reported last week that WWE is somewhat confident that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will sign a new deal with the company despite issues on both sides.

Furthermore, speculation circulated that Lesnar could have a so-called "extra" date on his contract because he walked out on Monday Night Raw two weeks ago. In case you forgot, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion was reportedly backstage at Raw two weeks ago after flying into Nashville. WWE had planned to use him on the show and had advertised him to appear alongside Paul Heyman, but something apparently went wrong and only Heyman went out for the segment with Roman Reigns.

Initial reports and rumors said the show went through some late rewrites and WWE simply decided not to use Lesnar last night, but now it appears that there is more to the story. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer said during his radio show later that night that "something is going on" but cautioned that he is not sure what it is.

PW Insider also reported that sources told the site that there is an issue between Lesnar and WWE tied to their business relationship rather than the creative side. PWI also said Vince McMahon "acknowledged the issue during a SmackDown production meeting" but it's unclear what exactly the boss said.

Meltzer also had the following to say: "There was a heated, loud discussion where Vince and Brock were yelling and screaming at each other, loud enough where other people were concerned, especially for Vince because it really sounded bad."

The Wrestling Observer also reported that the WWE writing team asked McMahon if it needed to create an alternateWrestleMania story without Lesnar, and the boss emphatically said no.

Infamous Reddit user MetsFan4Ever also posted this about Lesnar last week:

"The argument that lead to Brock Lesnar storming out of Raw last week was that Brock wanted to go to the UFC show this past weekend and discuss a potential deal with the UFC. Vince McMahon was strongly against this as long as Brock was under WWE contract. Brock stormed out of the building and as we all know, showed up at the UFC show. Unless Vince pulls a miracle off, it is just a matter of time before we see Brock Lesnar headlining another UFC pay-per-view."

There is also apparently significant concern within WWE that Roman Reigns will get booed at WrestleMania 31 no matter what happens. Rumors say if Lesnar does not re-sign, then WWE could use that knowledge to get the fans to turn on him and cheer Reigns instead.

So there's a lot to unpack there. Heyman came out for a segment last week and said his client would be at Mania and would pretty much do whatever he damn well pleases because no one can tell him otherwise. Still, fans will be watching Lesnar tonight to see what happens.

Elsewhere, the Intercontinental Championship situation is getting more and more complicated, as more contenders participate in this ongoing game of hot potato with the belt. The ladder match for the title at Mania officially contains Bad News Barrett (the official champion), R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, and Luke Harper. But both Stardust and Daniel Bryan have been involved in this story, so perhaps they will get added to the match tonight.

John Cena continues to campaign for a rematch with Rusev, but the United States Champion seemingly has no interest in giving the 15-time world champion another bout. What can Cena do tonight to change Rusev's mind? Remember that Stephanie McMahon said last week the only way Cena gets to Mania is if Rusev allows it.
