John Mayer may have been quiet about Taylor Swift for quite some time but it seems he's ready to discuss the pop star. In a recent interview with MSNBC, Mayer was asked about his thoughts on Swift's Spotify beef – in which she removed all of her music from the streaming service – as well as all of the rumors surrounding his Paradise Valley single "Paper Doll"––a song reportedly written about Swift. Matched with those wedding rumors with Katy Perry, it looks like Mayer's life never ceases to be interesting.

In the MSNBC interview with Ronan Farrow, Mayer admitted that he thinks it's "really cool" that Swift took down her music from Spotify. "Artists need the person with the loudest voice to speak for them," he said.

He, of course, mentioned that some (mainly cynics) might say that the 1989 singer is trying to help herself, but he adds that it's merely a "trickle down."

"I think that's a really cool thing for a musician to do."

Later on in the interview, "Paper Doll" was brought up. Arguably, the song was written about Taylor Swift, though the guitarist hasn't really said specifically that it is.

Until now?

"I put out a song called 'Paper Doll.' The song never got listened to as a song. It became a news story because of the lyrics. I'm not in the business of telling people what the song is about. I never said anything about it."

As the interview goes on, it seems all the more true, however, that "Paper Doll" is actually about Taylor Swift.
