Move over, Guinness... you're no longer the most famous drug in the Republic. If you're looking to legally get high on meth, ecstasy and/or ketamine until Thursday at midnight, you may want to head on over to Ireland, because it's being reported that the country has legalized the drugs for one day and one day only... by mistake.

The Journal reports that the "legal highs" come from an accidental loophole found in Ireland's 1977 Misuse of Drugs Act. Naturally, the government is acting quickly to try and resolve the matter. Therefore, those in charge will find themselves making a late night in order to fix the error. The government notes that the law "can only take effect on the day its signed into law."

Which will be Thursday.

Comments from Health Minster Leo Varadkar note, "It is still the case that the sale, supply, export or import of such substances remains illegal, even now today."

But, of course, the possession is legal... for one day.

As the new bill is said to take effect that day after it is signed into law – meaning Thursday – we can only imagine how many tripping Irishmen and women will be scurrying around the various counties of the land.

Take a look at the full statement from The Journal here:

Readers, what do you think of Ireland's mistake? Or did you already start buying plane tickets?

Unsurprisingly, Twitter is pretty excited and finds the mistake hilarious.
