The Daily Show fans may be sad to see Jon Stewart leaving his coveted seat over at Comedy Central, but it looks like he's not necessarily vacating the spot light altogether. At least, we hope not. The political comedian recently spoke with Catie Lazarus over on the Employee of the Month podcast – his first interview since announcing his retirement from the famed show – and revealed some other things he'd like to do after leaving ... like getting back into stand up comedy.

Yes, it's true. Stewart noted an interest in getting back into stand up after leaving The Daily Show. We'll hold for your gasps...

Back? Great!

"I was wondering how ballsy you were going to get," Lazarus asked when wondering if Stewart would do more drama after he leaves his comedy series. The question, of course, stemmed from the "shocking" turn the comic took when he decided to direct last year's film Rosewater. To that, he claimed that he'd like to. "I would like to. I have a lot of ideas..."

Further noting that he realized he shouldn't stay at The Daily Show just because he can, Stewart was then asked if he'd get back into his first love: stand up comedy.

"You gonna do more stand up?" Lazarus asked. To which he quickly responded, "I'd love to do more stand up. That's how I started..."

And given the applause, it looks like the crowd is okay with that.

And as for his Daily Show departure, the host delivered high praise to those who helped him make the show what it has become, saying, "I'll miss the experience of making it much more than the experience of presenting it."

How do you think Stewart would do getting back into stand up?
