When it comes to 19 Kids & Counting star Derick Dillard, it seems his family will have his back through any controversy. The TLC reality star has been at the center of a scandal following posting a video of himself trying to run over a cat with his sled. Jill Duggar's husband posted the video March 1, where he and his in-laws took advantage of the fact that Arkansas got a light coating of snow and hit the front yard with their toboggans and sleds. But when Dillard almost took a cat out with his makeshift cookie sheet sled, he gained a lot of heat from fans.

But according to Radar Online, Jessa Duggar, who can be heard in the video cheering Derick on, said the cat wasn't harmed in the making of the Instagram home video.

The star opened up in an interview with Michelle Lewis and Ron Olson for FM 100 Memphis, and she had her brother-in-law's back the whole time. When the radio personalities asked her if Derick was aiming to hurt the animal, she replied, "No, no he wasn't."

"Our hill was very uneven, so he started to sled and the cat just happened to be there," Ben Seewald's wife explained, adding that the cat "actually jumped out of the way," before Derick almost hit it.

As for the cat, Jessa said it's doing fine.

"He didn't hit the cat. It didn't get run over," the star admitted. "I know the cat, I live not far way. The cat is totally fine."

While the cat might be fine, it isn't stopping PETA and fans from speaking out against Derick.

According to Fox News, some of his followers commented on the video with outrage, writing, "Disgusting. I'm sure if that was your pet you wouldn't tolerate that. Completely unacceptable from a 'Christian family,'" while another commented, "First sign of a psychopath is hurting animals... what happened to loving all of God's creatures."
