Reports confirm that popular "American Idol" season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez will star in a recurring role on FOX's hit musical series "Glee." No details have yet to be released on Sanchez's character, but rumors have it that Cory Monteith's character, Finn, is in dire need of a new love interest - and 17-year-old Sanchez might be perfect for the part. Not only that, but it's been hinted that she might be billed for a Barbara Streisand-themed episode.

Sanchez signed a deal with FOX to appear in the current season 4 of "Glee" - although details weren't released as to how long she'd be part of the "Glee" crew, her role is supposedly recurring. Following the Sanchez news, executive producer Ryan Murphy set Gleekers up for another big surprise:

‏@MrRPMurphy: "Michael Ausiello broke news of Jessica Sanchez on Glee. With voices like Jessica, Lea, Naya, Melissa, Amber, and Jenna...Streisand episode?"

Check out some of the responses:

@belunyc: "Really!!!?? Good for Jessica! And yes please! @msleamichele and Rachel Berry deserve a Barbra episode!"

@kcmmp13: "But only Lea should sing Barbra. You should have a divas episode. Like each one sing a song from their idol."

@GottaMeetDianna: "There's a little gem named Dianna Ageon who should be doing more solos, singing some Mandy Moore, some Marilyn Monroe ;)."

@rmiriam: "NO. No more gimmicky theme episodes. PLEASE."

There seems to be some mixed reactions. So what do fans think of that - could Sanchez take on the entertainment legend Streisand? No matter what, Sanchez will definitely add a fun and upbeat dose of talent and youth to the "Glee" cast. Stay tuned, Gleekers! "Glee" airs Thursdays on FOX.
