The recently announced Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds that hits theaters early 2016 has assuredly split the group of fans that love this comic book character. Turning an iconic character into a big-screen adaptation is not an easy task, but Reynolds feels that his upcoming film will please even the most "critical of fanboys" that love the Marvel antihero created by Rob Liefeld.

While attending the SXSW Film Festival this week to promote his new movie The Voices, Reynolds opened up about his own expectations for Deadpool and how he believes it will make fans happy!

"I'm incredibly happy about it -we've got a director [Tim Miller] that understands that world and writers with a slavish devotion to the canon of that character," he told The Short List this week, according to Slash Film. "That's the most important aspect: it's made in a way the most critical of fanboys could embrace. Well, that's the hope."

It would be pretty great if Reynolds ended up being right about Deadpool, but do you have faith in this project? Let us know in the comments section below!

Deadpool also stars Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, and T.J. Miller. It hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.

Ryan Reynolds has been pretty talkative about this new project and has been sharing as many details as he can in the production process.

"It's been a long time, but it's happened in the right way and that's all that matters," previously stated in an interview earlier this year. "We don't have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that's great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that's why we get to make the movie we want to make."
