Taylor Swift Ex Boyfriends: Singer Enjoys Aggravating Former Flames With Music

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but in musician Taylor Swift's case, it catapults her song-writing to award-winning heights. The 22-year-old recently stated that she enjoys tormenting her ex-boyfriends through her lyrics because they deserve it for their harsh treatment to her.

Swift, who's known to belt out tunes related to her ex-flames, apparently has no qualms about doing it, which includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and John Mayer.  When referring to one of her famous exes, she told the Daily Star: "I made a song that I knew would absolutely drive him crazy when he heard it on the radio.  Not only would it hopefully be played a lot, so that he's have to hear it.  But that's the opposite of the kind of music he was trying to make me inferior to.  I did that because that's fun."

Although the five-time Grammy winner said she wishes her old relationships would've worked out, she's currently happy with new beau Connor Kennedy.

"I can say I'd honestly rather be happy than have 30 or 40 songs that I've written about these thrilling, exciting, horrible, unhappy times.  At some point, you grow out of being attracted to that flame that burns you over and over and over again," Swift added.

The singer's chart-topping pop single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was an overnight success when it was released in September, becoming Billboard's most downloaded first week digital single.

Despite her success, the young musician has dealt with a handful of critics dishing on subjects that range from her music to her personal life.  Although she wrote "Mean" to send her naysayers a message, she told the Daily News that she pays little attention to what people say.

"I don't really read anything so I don't know what's being said, which kind of allows me to make music from a pure place of just making the music that I love."

"Red," which is Swift's follow-up album to her 2010 hit "Speak Now" is set for release on Monday, Oct. 22. On the CD, she collaborates with the likes of pop music producer Max Martin and British singer Ed Sheeran.
