Kelly Rowland and her son, Titan Jewell are all smiles in their new photos covering the April 2015 issue of Essence magazineMStars News previously reported that the new mother is finally revealing her son in the magazine next month, where she talks about motherhood, marriage, and her music.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Rowland also shared some exclusive details about her new life during a chat at home.

"I actually wish I would have had him sooner," Kelly stated. "It's just so much joy. I just feel so blessed ... I try to wake up a little bit earlier than him because I like watching his face in the morning, because he wakes up smiling. It just does something for my spirit."

MStars News previously reported that Kelly's mother, Ms. Doris Rowland Garrison died one month after her grandson was born. ET revealed that Rowland's mother died at the age of 66 from cardiac arrest. Kelly revealed that her mother had a chance to spend some time with her grandson before she passed away.

"I have the most beautiful picture with Titan and my mom," the singer said. "When he came home ... he was just right on her chest and she was very happy."

"There's moments when I'm changing Titan and he's just kind of looking over my head and he just bursts out in giggles, and I'm like, 'Hey, mom,'" Kelly added. "I just feel like she's always somewhere near."

Her mother imparted character traits in Kelly that have helped steer her through motherhood so far. After Rowland's mother died, she found strength and support through family and friends, like Tina Knowles.

"She has been nothing but a blessing," Kelly claimed. "She's such a great example of a mother."

Rowland tied the knot with her husband, Tim Weatherspoon last year in Costa Rica. The Destiny's Child singer says that she is proud of her family.

"I'm proud of my family," Kelly told the ET reporter. "It's nothing that I have to hide. My husband, and my child, and what we have to share together in our home, it's beautiful."

When Kelly was asked what would she tell her mom today if she was still alive, the singer said: "I'd tell her thank you, she prepared me for this time. She told me I'd be a great mom. One of the last things she told me was how proud she was of me."

A crying Rowland said, "She was waiting on him to come. She was waiting for him to come, and now he has his guardian angel."
