In this week's episode of Celebrity Litigations we turn our eyes to Ashley Judd. Judd claims angry fans were left beleaguered by her Tweet that blasted Arkansas for "playing dirty." She then went on to say that Arkansas should kiss her "team's free throw making ass." According to Judd this single tweet lead to a rising current of college basketball fans threatening her with sexual assault on Twitter. After the Twitter barrage Judd said she had "already begun to research what legal actions to take against gender-based violence on Twitter."

She opened up on the pending suits to the Today Show:

"The amount of gender violence that I experienced is absolutely extraordinary," Judd told the Today Show. "And a significant part of my day today will be spent filing police reports at home about gender violence that's directed at me on social media."

You can watch that interview here:

Whether you agree with Judd or not, you have to respect the fact that she is going to sit at home and look through each and every tweet. That's Grade A motivation to not only sit through so much hate directed toward you, but also her ability to stomach all the bad grammar of the pissed off citizens of the deep south. In an open letter to Mic.com, Judd claims that she wants to put an end toward violent language toward women. Especially when it comes to women talking about sports.

"The themes embedded in this particular incident reflect the universal ways we talk about girls and women," Judd wrote. "When they are violated, we ask, why was she wearing that? What was she doing in that neighborhood? What time was it? Had she been drinking?"

Judd says that were she a man, it would have been a throw away comment. Here are a few of the tweets she received here:

Judd’s crusade on Twitter has now caught the eye of Twitter CEO Dick Costolo. Costolo says that his company “sucks” when it comes to dealing with abuse. He even went as far as saying that he’s embarrassed about all the trolls and will do everything in his power to get rid of them.

Where do you stand on the Judd situation? If you think Twitter does indeed have a problem, how would you fix it?
