In a major relief to US actress Lindsay Lohan, her scheduled court appearance Tuesday in an alleged hit-and-run case has been suspended. In addition to it, New York prosecutors also claimed that a court has not issued further hearing date in accident case against her.

The latest development has strongly hinted that the district attorney is not keen on pursing case against Lohan, allegedly citing lack of substance in the case.

"Apparently prosecutors agreed that there wasn't enough to proceed. This turned out to be nothing just like we said from the very beginning," said Lohan's rep, Steve Honig, according to GMA News.

Last month, Lohan was arrested for driving away without stopping after allegedly running over a man outside the Dream Downtown Hotel.

The complainant, who is reportedly identified as Jose Rodriguez, accused the 26-years-old actress of clipping him with her Porsche Cayenne SUV outside Dream Hotel. However, a widely circulated footage of Sep 19 incident came in favour of Lohan.

The footage supposedly shows that Lohan sent out alerts for the alleged victim to move away from her way as she was pulling her car into the Hotel's parking area. It also shows that he wasn't "ran over" by the actress as he claimed but chasing after her to take pictures, said media reports.

Initially, it was speculated that Lohan was under the influence of alcohol during the incident took place. She was also not subjected to breathe test.

However, the police are of the opinion that Lohan was at her sense during the incident evening. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said that cops don't believe Lohan was drunk, reported New York Post.

Lohan has been reeling under several troubles since her arrest in 2007 in a drink and drive case in Los Angeles.

The actress will remain on probation until 2014 in California in connection with 2011 jewellery theft case.
