Jessica Sanchez on Glee: Character Still a Mystery, Potential Cory Monteith Love Interest a Possibility

It's official - "American Idol" sweetheart Jessica Sanchez is set to join the cast of "Glee" in its fifth season. As for which character the 17-year-old songstress will play - that still remains a total mystery (even to Sanchez). Rumors are buzzing that she'd make the perfect potential love interest for Cory Monteith's character Finn (watch out Lea Michele!), but of course nothing is set in stone. Even so, Sanchez admits that a hookup with Finn "would be interesting" to say the least.

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy recently confirmed the news of Sanchez joining the musical cast on Twitter:

Now most fans are left wondering - what part will Sanchez play in the hit Fox musical-comedy-drama series?

HollywoodLife.com recently spoke to the popular "American Idol," runner-up, who admitted that question still remains a mystery even to her: "It's all a mystery to me right now, we just found out when we are going to start shooting and that is all I know pretty much! I want a chance to sing with all of [the cast], there is not one particular person, I like all of them and I am excited to sing next to anyone."

Many fans think it's about time for Monteith's character Finn to get a love interest of his own - so who better than the young and fresh-faced Sanchez? Sanchez recently said this about the potential "love interest" buzz - "Everybody thinks [I'll play Finn's love interest], but I'm not even sure. That would be interesting." So 30-year-old Monteith might be little old for Sanchez's taste, but it's just for TV, right? Monteith is already dating "Glee" co-star Lea Michele (recent rumors had it that she is pregnant and beginning to sport a baby bump, but she heatedly denies it).
