Before hitting the big screen, the Civil War makes its way back onto Marvel Comics' big summer event, Secret Wars. Will Captain America and Iron Man "fight to the death" as the Marvel Universe sinks deeper into the Warzones in July's Civil War #1, from writer Charles Soule and artist Leinil Yu.

As we previously mentioned, Secret Wars features the Marvel superheroes from alternate realities coming together to meet in an epic standoff. The Marvel's superheroes and super-villains will be forced to defend themselves for the survival of their universe. There will be no Marvel Universe, no Ultimate Universe, or any other, just Battleworld.

In the plot synopsis, a nation is divided as two heroes face-off in a deadly confrontation. The top-secret Project Bellcurve holds the key to ending the war in one swift stroke. Someone has damning data that could undo President Stark's administration from within. To make matters worse, there are unseen enemies that want to exploit the Superhuman Civil War for their own gains.

In the original version, the masked heroes of the Marvel Universe were divided when Tony Stark upheld the Patriot Act. Though Peter Parker followed Stark's lead and revealed himself to be Spider-Man, his enemies went after Aunt May and Mary Jane. Civil War ended with the death of Captain America.

In an interview with CNN, Soule reveals how fans interested in the movie will love this re-imagination, "If you look at the ideas that that story had, Iron Man thought superheroes should have to register with the government, and become something of a police force. Captain America thought that that was restricting the central freedoms of this country. It was a debate of security versus freedom. We're taking that basic idea and expanding it to a larger canvas. The Registration Act is all in the past at this point. It's more of a world drastically changed based on a superhero war, and it's a huge story and it's fun to be able to involve every Marvel character there is."

As we previously mentioned, the X-Men and Magneto take on the world's most powerful mutant in Age of Apocalypse #1, Peter Parker has a wife and kid in Amazing Spider-Man:Renew Your Vows #1, and the Avengers are no more in A-Force #1.

Civil War #1 will arrive in stores sometime in June 2015.
