Brittany Taltos, 'Jersey Shore Italy' Reality Stat Hit by Truck, Head Crushed while Sunbathing, Lucky to be Alive

Brittany Taltos, the reality star made famous by her romantic fling with "Jersey Shore" cast member Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino while in Italy, was hit by a pickup truck while sunbathing outside on the yard of her Gainesville, FL apartment complex on Sunday. Apparently the vehicle almost crushed the 23-year-old's head, and she's lucky to be alive. Taltos suffered bruises on her face and had to get 15 stitches.

Taltos and her twin Erica were studying abroad in Italy when they crossed paths with the "Jersey Shore" crew. The duo appeared on a number of episodes, and also starred in the reality show "Bachelor Pad."

On Sunday, Oct. 21, Brittany Taltos was listening to music on her headphones while soaking up some sun when the near-fatal accident occurred. Taylor Green, the driver of the pickup truck, began backing-up his vehicle after dropping off a grill when he heard Taltos' blood-curdling screams. The 20-year-old niehgbor quickly pulled the truck forward and found Taltos injured on the ground. When police arrived, they found that Taltos' head had left an indentation in the grass.

 "It was very fortunate she was on softer ground where this occurred or the injuries may have been much worse if not fatal," said Lt Tracey Hidgon.

Taltos, who was rushed to the hospital and treated for her major head injury, is just happy to still be alive - "I am in such a good mood today, even though my head is pounding."

Even so, Taltos was angry over a comment a man by the name of Ken Peng posted after reading a report about the incident in the "Gainesville Sun" - the comment has since been deleted, but supposedly Peng claimed Taltos was "silly" for lounging in such an unsafe area. Taltos retorted, writing back on her Facebook page:

"Ken Peng...You are a sick human being. I almost died and your researching where I was sunbathing on Google Maps. The fact that you have no bit of compassion is pathetic."
