Zack Snyder's superhero film Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice releases in less than one year from today. We know the two superheroes will come to blows in the film, but why?

Badass Digest claims to have the answer.

"It is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation…at the behest of Lex Luthor," the site reports. And unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. Why would Superman do Lex Luthor’s bidding? What is Lex hoping to accomplish? That would be spoiling. But know that when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, 'He started it!'"

In other news, Entertainment Weekly has the first exclusive photo of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

"He's not any of the Lexes that you've seen, that's for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself," Snyder tells the site. "And bald, of course."

"Our Lex is disarming and he's not fake," Snyder continues. "He says what he believes and he says what's on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it's all there."

In other news, Jason Momoa will portray Aquaman in Snyder's Justice League, but we've already seen the character thanks to Snyder's releasing a photo on his Twitter account. In a new interview, Momoa talks about bringing the King of Atlantis to life on the big screen.

"The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing," he told Entertainment Weekly. "There’s so many things to tell, and there’s a whole backstory that’s just amazing. There’s a lot of surprises coming. I think, yeah, he’s been cast aside. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy. Conan was really hard, because you have 15 different types of fans and so many things to respect and honor. To do it right it’s got to be bloody-bloody-bloody-bloody-bloody, and not a lot of people go see that anymore. It’s not the ’80s anymore. It’s a really hard format. We busted ass, but there were a lot of cooks in the kitchen on that one. What’s great about this is Zack, man. We don’t want to just reinvent it, but he’s a got a whole idea of what Aquaman should be and I’m really honored to be playing it. I’m excited for the world to see it."

Momoa also discussed if he thinks Aquaman's presence was there in Man of Steel. "Well, you know, I think that’s left for the genius of Snyder to kind of reveal that," he said. "There’s definitely a plan in this whole universe that he’s designing, and it’s amazing to be a part of it. I think everything that you see that is building, there’s a purpose behind the whole plan. So I wouldn’t want to take anything away from Zack, because he loves revealing all those things. And… you never know, man."
