Oil Fortune Heir Andrew Getty Dead At 47: Ex-Girlfriend May be a Suspect

MStars News has learned that the grandson of oil millionaire J. Paul Getty was found dead at his L.A. home Tuesday, March 31, 2015. According to TMZ, Andrew Getty was found dead and his ex-girlfriend (who is not being named) is currently being held as a possible witness or suspect. Police are reviewing Getty's death as "under suspicious circumstances," after paramedics found a injury to the rectal area with a lot of bleeding.

The 47-year-old was found dead in his bathroom when his ex-girlfriend called for help and told responders that he went into cardiac arrest. One source claims that the former lovers had a history with the LAPD. Police had been to Getty's home a number of times due to domestic incidents. The source added that drugs also played a factor into their chaotic relationship. These drugs that police found in the past were prescriptions.

Getty had a restraining order against his former flame. The unnamed ex-girlfriend also broke into Getty's house in the past, and had to be placed under psychiatric hold for injuring police after they came to the L.A. home.

During an update, the L.A. County coroner revealed that Getty wasn't "feeling well" for some time now, and was scheduled to go to the doctor this week before he died. The coroner also revealed that there prescription drugs were found at the scene, but that doesn't mean Getty took any of them, claiming that Getty's death was an accident.

According to NY Daily News, Getty apparently died from natural causes.

The L.A. County coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter stated: "The tentative information that we do have is that he was not feeling good for the last couple months. And he supposedly had an appointment tomorrow with a personal physician."

A spokesman for Getty's parents, Ann and Gordon Getty said in a statement: "The family has requested that members of the media and the public respect its privacy during this extremely difficult time."

The Getty's fortune is estimated at $5 billion.
