Dr. Charles Eugster is not shy to brag that he can do sets of 57 dips, 61 chin-ups, and 48 crunches each in a matter of a mere 45 seconds - and the former dentist-turned-bodybuilder has every right to brag, he is 93-years-old. After having his story featured on BBC news, Eugster is now lauded as a modern medical marvel and living proof that age is sometimes only a number when it comes to natural health and fitness.

At 87-years-old, Eugster noticed that his body was getting a little too flabby - that was no way to attract the younger, 70-something-year-old ladies. He retired as a dentist and soon began a career in bodybuilding - six years later, Eugster's daily, two-hour workout revolves around a strenuous routine where he can bust out more than 60 pullups and 50 pushups at a time. At an age where many of his peers are confined to wheelchairs, Eugster is doing stuff in the gym many people in their 20s would even struggle with.

According to Eugster, "I am of the opinion that no age is too old. Aging has become an enormous pleasure, a delight, a joy." He goes on to explain the motivation behind his stellar physique - "The idea is to turn the heads of the sexy young 70-year-old girls on the beach. I'm extremely vain. I noticed I was getting fat... If you have taken care of your old car, it won't cost you so much. But it you have neglected your car it's going to cost you a lot."

Professor of Primary Senior Care Steve Iliffe said, "[Eugster] is unusual and there is a small minority of the population that can undertake that sort of vigorous activity into their 90s, but that's not true of most of us. Within reason it is never too late to start exercising, but you do have to remember there is a difference between exercise and physical activity."

Such strenuous exercise may not be right for every individual in their 80s or 90s, but staying physically active even after retirement is a very important thing. According to experts, a program of aerobics and strength-training can help defy aging. Just take a look at Eugster's phenomenal body transformation at age 93!
