DMX sure has been known for a number of things: getting arrested; possessing both drugs and guns; lending a surprise performance in this past year's film Top Five written and directed by comedian Chris Rock; and yes, having quite a successful rap career. But one thing we haven't heard him doing? Holding up a guy for some cash monies. Now, however, we can add that to our list because it's being reported that the Earl Simmons-born Yonkers, New York native robbed at guy at a Newark, New Jersey gas station.

The rapper reportedly got away with $3,200 cash after a quick conversation with the victim.

NJ.com notes that Sgt. Ronald Glover of the Newark Police noted that a 21-year-old man reported having had an mishap with Simmons and his crew at the gas station. DMX was allegedly with his entourage at the Exxon located at 600 Rt. 21 earlier this morning.

Yep, robbed a dude on Easter. #Bummer

"The two had a brief conversation about rap music and during the conversation a male in DMX's entourage showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim's money," said Glover.

The 21-year-old fan – well, used-to-be fan – then told the authorities that DMX snatched the money from his hand and then jumped "into one of four black Cadillac Escalades," all of which fled the scene, according to the publication.

Showing some true grit, the victim followed the SUVs and nabbed a license plate for police.

No word yet on whether or not the license plate actually belongs to DMX or one of his crew. Stay tuned!

Before this incident, DMX has recently been a known visitor of police cars, having been busted a while back for drug possession, parole violations and even animal cruelty. Oh, and yeah, like we mentioned – he was in Chris Rock's 2014 film Top Five.
