Diane Sawyer Slurring Words During Election Night Live Coverage: ABC News Anchor Drunk? Twitter Fans Think So [VIDEO]

Popular ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer seemed to be slurring most of her words during Tuesday evening's live coverage of the 2012 presidential election (Nov. 6), and the 66-year-old's odd behavior had many Twitter fans buzzing that the host of "ABC World News" most definitely had to have been drunk. The close election kept many citizens of the United States on their toes throughout Tuesday (President Barack Obama ultimately proved victorious over political rival Mitt Romney), so maybe Sawyer was just frustrated, disoriented, excited, simply fatigued? Whatever the case, for a woman who is otherwise usually put-together and always on top of her game, Sawyer's bizarre actions and slipups did make it appear that she may have had one too many glasses of wine before ABC went on-air to cover the election - live. Sawyer's name began trending on Twitter on Tuesday... along with the words "drunk," "slurring," and "chardonnay." One ABC rep told the Daily News, "She spent a number of sleepless nights preparing and rehearsing. It just caught up to her." Even so, many fans aren't buying it.
