Israel David Dillard: Why Did Jill and Derick Dillard Choose to Give Their Son That Name? [DETAILS]

Israel David has arrived and Jill and Derick Dillard looked relieved and happy. MStars News previously reported that the 19 Kids & Counting stars welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into the world Monday, April 6. But why did they choose to give their son that name?

Baby Dilly, now named Israel David Dillard, arrived weighing a shocking 9 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 23 inches long!

So what does Israel actually mean? Well, according to the new parents, their son's name means "God will prevail."

According to the Duggar Family Blog, there is a significance behind Israel's name as well.

The family explained it to fans by writing:

"Back in September 2011, Jill and her family traveled to Israel as part of their World Tour. It was the trip of a lifetime for the Duggars because it made the Bible come to life. More than two years later and a few months after Jill and Derick began their courtship, Derick stopped in Israel on his way home from Nepal. Knowing how much Jill had enjoyed her trip to Israel, he purchased her engagement ring there."

How sweet!

It's cool when parents have a beautiful story to tell their children, sometimes giving them a name to go with their beautiful love journey.

We also learned that Jill and Derick's plan to deliver their son at home didn't go so well. The details are unknown at this time why Jill had to give birth in a hospital opposed to a water birth, but the couple did reveal that they were doing great and are happy to finally meet their son.

"He's just a handsome little fella," new mom Jill said.

Indeed he is! Some fans even claim baby Israel looks like his grandfather Jim Bob!
