Season 5 of HBO's Game of Thrones premieres Sunday night, so the wait and anticipation are almost over. But we've still got a few spoilers to hold us over here at the very end of the hiatus.

The following comes from the "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide:

"Life without Tywin Lannister has its challenges.

That's what Queen Regent Cersei (Lena Headey) learns when Game of Thrones returns without her father, who was very rudely dispatched by a crossbow while doing his business on the privy last season. Cersei may not top his level of backstabbing bloodshed (hello, Red Wedding!), but she does have a trick up her noble sleeve.

Cersei reaches out to make an unexpected alliance with someone who may not seem very impressive on the surface, but has the followers to make a difference. Together, they're a powerful force, one that will quickly instill fear in many... even those previously thought as untouchable.

But Cersei should beware. While her dear brother Jaime (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) is off on a hush-hush mission, everyone else in Westeros and beyond are scheming to take her down. That includes her fugitive brother Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), who despite fleeing for his life after committing patricide, soon finds a political purpose that's not in his sister's best interest."

Who could this mystery partner be? Where could Cersei turn for help?

In case you missed it, the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online has some information on the new season.

"Eric: I need scoop on Game of Thrones. I don't want it, I need it!
Get ready for one intense season...in just a few days! Winter is coming...and so are some long-awaited reunions! 'The big thing is, we're past the halfway point of this story, and we're getting closer to the end of Game of Thrones,' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau tells me. 'The stakes have always been high but they're getting higher and some of the major characters that haven't met before will meet. It's very exciting.'"
