Teen billionaire and apparent "wise guy" Peter Brant II (the 18-year-old son of publishing mogul Peter Brant Sr. and supermodel Stephanie Seymour) had a rather disturbing text message conversation with peer Andrew Warren about coming up with a "contingency plan" to kill President Barack Obama. The two young men then went on to make fun of Women's Rights... and the worst part - Brant thought it would be funny to post the controversial convo on the popular picture sharing website Instagram. The text message image soon went viral - both boys ended up apologizing (Brant even condemned such behavior as "stupid humor"), but even so, many Twitter and Instagram followers were not very amused.

The image above features the convo Brant had with Warren following Obama's victory in the 2012 presidential election.  First Warren joked that the election results would make him "poor," Brant then texted, "I have a contingency plan... kill Obama hahaha." Warren responded with, "HAHA well at least women have rights... oh wait I don't care." Brant finished off the convo with "Hahahaahaha exactly." He then posted a still image of the conversation under the private Instagram username Statigram. That's when the photo went viral... while some of the boys' friends thought the post was funny, many others did not. Warren started getting some abuse on Twitter, so on Wednesday (Nov. 7), he posted this (sort of an apology?):

@adwnewyork: "People seriously need to take a joke, the instagram obviously wasn't serious. Everyone can move on now I obviously believe in women's rights."

After still receiving harsh criticism, Warren then got a little annoyed, and tweeted this on Thursday:

@adwnewyork: "It's sad that all you adults have nothing better to do then tweet things at a19 year old, your not affecting me, I apologized-move on... For everyone tweeting at me - can you start using proper English? #NotComprehending."

Brant (a rather fashionable young socialite) tweeted this:

@HarryPeterBrant: "I don't Intend anything negative or harm to our President my facetious statement was a poorly executed attempt at humour, & 4 that I'm sorry... P: My friends and I's words were in very poor taste and I wud like to apologize to anyone we offended."

He then posted this official apology on fashionista.com:

"I would just like to say I never intended to offend everyone. I'm really not that political and after the election all my friends and I, republicans and democrats alike were instagramming political cartoons and poking fun at each other on Facebook. I didn't mean what I said, and obviously I have no intention of killing anyone, Obama is now our president and as such I support him. What Andrew and I said was stupid and I'm sorry to anyone we offended. This is a time when we need to be unified as a country and not let any petty stupid humor get in the way of that."

Even so, "fake" death threats aimed towards anyone (but especially the president) are a pretty serious thing. As "New York Magazine" writer Hilary Moss states, "HAHAHAAHAHA ... won't it be uproarious when the Secret Service stops by Chez Brant later today?"
