"Dancing With the Stars" co-host, Brooke Burke-Charvet, took everyone by surprise as she revealed Thursday that she was fighting thyroid cancer and would be undergoing surgery soon.
Charvet, in a July post on the blog "The Modern Mom", narrated how she discovered about the presence of a nodule on her thyroid, the biopsy she had to undergo and her fears. After that, she refrained from posting any details about the results of the tests that she took to confirm the nature of the nodule, which she hoped was just "an annoying benign nodule."
Charvet, 41, posted a video on "The ModernMom's" YouTube channel, disclosing that she was fighting thyroid cancer and that she will be needing thyroid surgery soon. However, the mother of four, is all set to battle the cancer with uncompromising fortitude and is determined to flush it out. Charvet said that she made the video so that her fans get the correct information about her cancer directly from her.
"I don't get to just walk around and pretend like nothing happened, or not follow up or not share it because it's going to be pretty much dead center," she said in the video. "I didn't want anybody to read about it and get the wrong idea or think that I'm sick because I'm not. I feel really good. And I've actually, I've never felt better. That's what is so crazy about this whole thing
The 41-year-old said that she find herself in a really out-of-control situation. "I'm going to be a really good patient and I'm going to do everything that I need to do," adding that she is going to make positive out of this negative thing.
