The only thing better than Pokémon is food, and Missouri-based pancake artist Daniel Drake, better known as Dan the Pancake Man, has combined the two. Dan created the idea of Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo and Jigglypuff Pokémon-themed pancakes as a fry cook looking to make better tips. The idea worked but in the end it turned into so much more. His Pokémon pancakes have now gone mainstream.

Dan talked about the big tips people originally gave him with GamesRadar.com.

"I started doing pancake art because I was a short order fry cook with a real need to make better tips, as server wages in the States are draconian," he said. "It started simple; just smiley faces. But the first one I served earned me a $15 tip, and I said, 'Hey! May as well make every pancake crazy, right?'"

People finally took notice after Dan posted the video below.

From there he found more success than any fry cook probably ever has. Dan found himself on The Today Show talking about his work. After the NBC appearance, St. Louis's Corvid Cafe hired him to make the Pokémon pancakes.

Not only are the pancakes creative, but he also said they're just as delicious as they are cool-looking.

"They are absolutely as delicious as they look!" Drake said in the Games Radar interview. "I use a simple buttermilk recipe that I've never had a complaint about in six years of pancake art, plus there's always butter and syrup. How could they not be delicious?"

And never fear: Nothing went to waste as the lucky customers at Corvid's Cafe took on eating duties for the 151 pancakes featured in the footage.

According to Drake, the hardest pancake Pokémon to put together is Arcanine. The reason for this is because the fire Pokémon's exterior is just so damn fuzzy.
