It's finally that time of year - basketball season!

The San Antonio Spurs battle it out on the court against the Houston Rockets in Week 23 of the 2014-215 regular season on Friday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m. EST at the Toyota Center in Texas. Heading into the final weeks of the regular season, the Rockets snag the steady No. 5 spot in Marc Stein's official NBA power ranking for ESPN.com with a 53-25 winning record:

"We'll know a lot about Houston's bid to hang onto the No. 2 seed in the West after this week's home and home with San Antonio. What we already know: 17 No. 2 seeds, under the current playoff format in place since 1984, have reached the NBA Finals ... compared to only seven No. 3 seeds."

Houston remains first in the Southwest Division.

Meanwhile, the Spurs currently hold the awesome No. 2 spot (out of 30 total teams), with 53 wins and 26 losses. San Antonio is third in the Southwest Division. According to Stein:

"One big concern looms for the only team in the league with two wins over Golden State: Tiago Splitter's health. The Spurs are 20-5 when Splitter joins Timmy, Tony, Kawhi and Danny Green in the starting lineup. That group, incidentally, played all of eight minutes together in San Antonio's first 40 games."
